They call it a “Carrier Killer.” ~ video below Taiwan recently unveiled its first domestically-produced missile corvette, the Tuo Chiang, and the island nation plans to produce a dozen more, With its radar-dodging design, the vessel has earned a nickname as Taiwan’s “carrier killer” in local media — and with Taiwan’s massive neighbor, China, gunning for a fleet of four carriers and claiming Taiwan for its own, the Tuo Chiang could prove to be a decisive weapon in Taiwan’s arsenal. Taiwan’s first domestically-produced missile corvette, the 500-ton ship Tuo Chiang (Tuo River), is pictured during the vessel’s launch ceremony at the naval port at Suao in northeastern Taiwan’s Yilan county on December 23, 2014.
