They considered him to be a blasphemer; Another possible reason - TopicsExpress

They considered him to be a blasphemer; Another possible reason why the believer him to be a blasphemer. The following verses have proved that; John 10;31-33; Then the jews took up stones again to stone him (to death). Jesus answered them; many good works have i showed you from my father; for which of those works do ye stone me? The jews answered him, saying, for a good work we stone you not, being a man, makest thyself God. Comment; When Jesus made the allegorical statement, saying. I and my father are one in John 10 30, the Jews misunderstood him and taught he was either claiming himself to be God or that he was equalizing himself with God. Did Jesus not also says in John 14;28 that; for the father is greater than I? Therefore, jesus was only talking about his oneness with God in the metaphorical sense just as he claimed to be one with his diciples and God in John 17;21-23 of the Bivle. He was just talking about the unity of purpose and not unity in power, knowledge and essence with God. But unfortunately, the Jews misunderstood his prphetic language and tried to apply the law of blasphemy in Leviticus 24;16 against Jesus. The low stated that And he that blasphemed the name of the lord, he should surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him; as well the stranger; as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemed the name of the lord, shall be put to death. (Liviticus 24;16). Are the Muslims and the Christians ready to apply this divine punishment against the blasphemers that live among them? Or do they have their law that surpersedes the law of God in the Bible and in the glorious Quran? Are we doing justice to ourselves when we reject the law of God, and abide by man-made law?
