They dont let pregnant women give birth in destitution do they? Oh yes they do? The UK Government claims that an appeals rights exhausted asylum seeker who is over 28 weeks pregnant will not be left destitute and will be accommodated and given a bare essential support payment. Thats not what happened to Sara (NHRN) . We have been trying to get her emergency accommodation for weeks and had her put up with one of our accommodation volunteers. We organised crisis payments. But nothing came through. Sara (NHRN) is about to have her baby who will be born into destitution. Yet again, this charity is stepping in to provide an emergency crisis grant, where the government was supposed to assist. If society thinks its not their concern, fine, just remember its only a matter of time before the UK government practices the same doublespeak and shameful practices on UK citizens.
