They laughed when they heard I was writing poetry/prose/rhymes..... They didnt believe when they heard I was doing web design, they said no one would pay for someone to manage social media pages........ they sucked their teeth when they heard I was doing stand up comedy...... They said my book wouldnt sell...... they tuned into my radio shows to see if I was lying....... they saw when I gave my book to Michelle Obama, hung out with Kevin Hart, Did all types of interviews and appearances on television and radio.......They know about the talks I give to kids and in the prisons..... connecting with politicians, trying to convince them t make the right decisions.......... and guess what? They still havent said congratulations.... or keep up the good work....... The moral of the story is............. When pursuing ur dreams and passion, you will be confronted with many oppositions, naysayers, doubters who lack any vision....... You will get ridiculed and laughed at..... people will talk shit about you including ur family........ And guess what? Its all part of the journey...... You may feel discouraged and bitter at first, keep striving, you may get angry and hurt, keep dreaming, you may have to cut people off, keep ur heart open to new people who will compliment you, encourage you, give u guidance, keep striving......... One day youĺl wake up and wont care at all what the naysayers say...... you will love them anyway.... and feel sorry for those who dont believe in themselves enough to take steps towards bettering their lives..... and one day..... THOSE SAME PEOPLE WHO LAUGHED AND DOUBTED YOU WILL REACH OUT TO YOU FOR HELP......... ANd guess what?.... YOURE GOING TO HELP THEM ANYWAY!!!!!!!
