They never said it was easy. You know, it gets hard sometimes. Down right heart breaking. To the point your chest caves in thinking about how long its been since you last saw them. Not seeing her for weeks at a time, or feeling your lips on mine. Not holding you, holding me. Not having our fingers tangled together. Not feeling your warmth. Not hearing your heart beat against your chest. Not hearing your laugh, genuine and true. Not seeing your priceless smile. No tickle fights. No making love. No road trips. No watching TV. No adventuring together. No normal couple things. To hell with the ‘normal’ couple stuff. All the miles mean nothing the second I’m back in your arms. Wrapped in your embrace. The smile plastered on our faces. The way my heart races and my stomach gets fire-breathing butterflies as you walk up to me. That feeling. That amazing feeling. Now that, along with a long list of other things, makes it all worth it.
