They replied, "When you sit on your glorious throne, we want to sit in places of honor next to you, one on your right and the other on your left." (Mark 10:37) The problem with the request of the two men that followed Christ is that they wanted the honor without experiencing what it takes to be in such a position. Look what Jesus stated ... "But I have no right to say who will sit on my right or my left. God has prepared those places for the ones he has chosen."(Mark 10:40) For what reason do we look for positions of honor in the church? To say that we are such and such or so and so? Or because we desire to honor God and take all that comes with such position? Are those who seek such position willing to partake of the bitter cup that comes with being a servant (leader). We should seek God, as Jesus stated God gives those positions to the ones that He has chosen, not man. Be Blessed
