They say every story has 2 sides. This is the letter our Meerkat - TopicsExpress

They say every story has 2 sides. This is the letter our Meerkat leader sent to the parents yesterday Dear meerkats Unfortunately due to scouts dismantling my stage and throwing it outside in the rain which is a big lose for my school even after I explained that my car isnt fixed so I cant tow trailer. I quit meerkats effective from today. I feel after 10 years service of me taking meerkats forward that was a big slap in the face. So contact sherley for further info of how meerkats will continue. To my meerkat committee fantastic parents and great kids thanks for all the special memories and the opportunity to have so much fun with you all. N (N is/was the meerkat leader) today I have sent a letter of explanation as Group Scouter Dear Meerkat Parents It is always sad when these things happen. N has been a tower of strength and instrumental in building the most successful Meerkat group in the country over the years and will be sorely missed. Just to clarify: The stage was erected last November for Ns nursery school concert with the assurance that it would be removed before the start of the new year. The cubs & scouts really did not mind working around the stage but not for so long. Also the decision to remove it was made by the Parents Committee last Friday after numerous requests and promises to have it removed. Scouts who could assist on Friday after the meeting were asked to dismantle everything. The expensive wood was inside the locked store where it would not be destroyed or grow legs, but the pallets, which take up so much room, where placed outside. The stage has been impacting negatively on both Cubs and Scouts for some time, especially when trying to run meetings in wet weather. A recent inspection by a Scout training team member from HQ again highlighted the issue. Although we will all miss N terribly I would like to assure you all that Meerkats will continue after the school holidays and we hope to see you and your little ones on April 12 Granny Meerkat Now it looks like I will be running Meerkats for the foreseeable future!!
