They say no one is born racist. Racism is learned. So...where is it learned? If your school told you Columbus discovered America and not the 10 million American Indians who were already there, then your school was teaching you racism. If you learned Captain Cook discovered Hawaii and Australia, and Abel Tasman discovered New Zealand, despite the millions of Maori, Aborigines and Polynesians already there, you and your white classmates were learning racism. We were all learning, right from day 1, as children, that brown people dont count. Only European discovery is important to learn. We were learning we were inferior and our white classmates were learning they were superior. Racism is part of the school curriculum and they still teach these bullshit lies today. Tomorrow, we will again be selling The Pacific History they dont teach at School DVD, at the Otara flea market from 7am. It is a source of empowerment but most importantly, its a weapon against racism. We do count. The hard struggles and wonderful achievements of our ancestors do count and still relevant today. We can fight the demoralising institution of colonial schooling with empowered and informed households and families. Get one for your children. And our Palagi mates too! https://youtube/watch?v=q78eyZmdjuI
