Johnson – $550 million Robert L. Johnson is the founder, former Chairman and ex-Chief Executive Officer of Black Entertainment Television, or BET. He is considered as the first African American to become a millionaire after becoming the first black person from anywhere in the world to become part of Forbes Magazine’s list of the richest people on earth. He also used to be the majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats, a franchise of the National Basketball Association. The team is now controlled by Michael Jordan. Johnson is also the founder and Chairman of RLJ Development. 9. Sean Combs – $550 million He has also been known by other stage names, like Puff Daddy or Diddy or P. Diddy.
