They say that poverty and hard times strengthen religious faith. I have not, personally, found this to be the case. I still call myself a Catholic because that was the denomination of the particular church that was there for me when I truly needed it, but practice-wise, I am a very bad one. As far as actual beliefs, I careen from a dreary brand of atheism to an implicit, Gaiman-esque belief in all gods that have ever existed. All I know for sure is that there is terror and wonder in the world. (And I still do stuff with candles and herbs, of course, but Ive always done that.)
