They should enact a law scratching out penalties for not maintaining the bank account minimum balance which is now somewhere between 250-300 pesos a month even for a simple ATM account that does not even earn any interest. Imagine the injustice that this is doing to the millions of Filipinos who cannot even maintain a decent savings and still be FINED for not having enough money in their bank account. Some banks require 2,000 to 5,000 maintaining balance. Ergo if they have 1,000,000 accounts in their hands, they are already holding on to at least 2 to 5 Billions of peoples money. And they still complain about having to service their clients and thus charging 250 to 300 pesos a month?
