They think bc youre quiet that youre incapable of making noise But Im a woman Its my duty to upheld my poise Posture is to stay upright And I dont need a knife or a gun My weaponry of choice is a stage, pen, a spit and mic when I fight Been battling my own demons so what makes you think that I wont cast out yours And though Im all female I can still stomp with the big boys But I prefer grown that turn boys into men Not the ones that gossip like theyre feminine Focused so Im adamant about my time And if you wasnt watching me you would notice that life is more than about collecting dimes Chime in before you look up and youve failed to see That I dont indulge in misery Thats why when it comes to me that broad stays lonely Happy is my company The one I choose to entertain Ive found my sense of peace I only hope that this piece Offers you the same Different views but were only offered one life And I just hope for your sake before you decide to meddle with mine again Youll think twice Too much nice that I do in this world to let you turn me angry But Im a poet I write to express whats inside me Aside from you Im totally good And I speak life So speak life into my life as I did your life I wish that you would Building not to be broken so blessed is how Ill stay And youll neva get the best of me Just as long as my name is Janae Been in my Spirit since day one So no disrespect but with respect to approach me Is how you must come Or dont come At all Period (.)
