They took the house I had been paying half my wages on for 11 years. They towed my car because I was living in it. They took the mini storage. They threatened me with jail on multiple occasions just for sitting on a bench or being out too late at night. They escorted me out of a mall for getting a cigarette butt out of an ash tray. They let me spend seven winters freezing and seven summers roasting in the heat. And now that Im sober, Im supposed to become a productive member of society. Just forget about it, right? Pretend it didnt happen? Sorry, it doesnt work like that.
