They way Indian media has reported the high voter turnout in Kashmir, they are claiming that this has been “the peoples answer to militants bullets”. Such hype and misrepresentation by the Indian media is hiding the actual reasons for the voter turnout. Fact is that common people are sick of the present corrupt and anarchic government and they want a change. Sadly the Indian media has not only been overplaying this voter turnout, they have been wrongly projecting this as a change of political aspirations of common people. While people want a change in government, their quest for the resolution of Kashmir issue remains intact. And the Indian media by misrepresenting common people of J&K are only doing a disservice to their own journalistic ethics.
