Theyve been gate guards at Gila Bend municipal airport for decades, today on the way home from Yuma I finally stopped to take pics. They were not from Luke AFB but I dont care. What Ive read about them tells me to call Voodoos some of the unsung heroes of the Century Series, and the Cold War. Plus I always felt that for a jet, this was one of the sharpest designs to make it from paper to flight-line. Some know but some dont. The F-101 was the original aircraft picked to take out SAM sites in Viet Nam. Becoming famously known as Wild Weasels. They sit mere feet off the rode East of Gila Bend AZ. Just north of the World Famous: Berry Goldwater Range. 56112, the other is --130, the year is not readable at sunset. And I was too stupid to look on the other side.
