Thing I never liked about Banksy is he just entertains his fans. He doesnt actually make any of them think. Somebody once admitted as much about Michael Moore. They just liked how he bullied and p*ssed-on people they didnt like. Now THATS entertainment! Telling people what they want to hear isnt telling them what they need to hear. Especially after Occupy, a lot of activists needed to be told that they were just acting-out, looking damned childish, insulting and alienating potential allies, engaging in outrageous demonizion and stereotyping, cos-playing at revolution, and pretty much accomplishing less-than-nothing. But since the 1960s thats been the whole PURPOSE of this thing we call activism, hasnt it? If the problems they allegedly wanted solved ever went away, it would leave them with meaningless lives. Put on an Anonymous mask, hold up a badly-lettered sign, and Look! Im a REVOLUTIONARY! Its pathetic, and an insult to 50s-60s Civil Rights workers and anybody who actually worked hard and risked their lives in a real (and really necessary) revolution.
