Things I learned this week: 1. I now know why Gone with the Wind is a classic film. It really is tremendous. 2. Jackson has a choral society that is open to any choral singers who are interested. I just may be interested, Jackson! 3. I find it fascinating that belfries are initiated by remote controls. 4. For me, unhealthy = unhappy. 5. Regarding human dignity: “This self-respect and sense of self-worth, the innermost armament of the soul, lies at the heart of humanness; to be deprived of it is to be dehumanized, to be cleaved from, and cast below, mankind.” (From Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand) 6. I am ready for summer to show up again. 7. It is useless to wish that people would reach out to you when you are not reaching out to them. 8. There’s something about walking into brisk, clear air at midnight on December 25th that makes you feel as though you are truly welcoming the Savior into the world on His birthday. 9. There is no sense in shedding tears over being alone on Christmas Eve when you have a roof over your head, food in the pantry, clothes to wear, and plenty of entertainment options, especially when you realize that there are people in the world who have absolutely nothing. 10. Christian friends are connected at the heart, regardless of the time, distance, and even silence that may pass between them.
