Things I miss: Licorice, horseradish sauce, fresh peaches, japalino peppers... Things I dont miss: Uniformed policemen, stop signs, 4 lanes of traffic, water bills that cost over 50 cents a month, cable TV that costs over $7 a month, stupid rules and regulations. The farmers markets are open everyday...good choices, fish market open daily with strange looking creatures, fuzzy lobster, lobster size prawns, squid is less than $1 a kilo, Lapu Lapu is less than $5 a kilo. Yellow lemons are expensive, green Asians are $2 a kilo. The Barangays here are pretty much self regulating and smelly sewers are NOT tolerated. A few nights of noisy parties are suddenly silent after the Tanod pays them a visit. We live under the green of huge Jackfruit and orchids...over 100 varieties in the front yard. We have Philhealth and provide it for all of the relatives. A toot extraction is $6, to replac a crown...sme price, a good cleaning? $2. Within 25 Km is a fine, clean clinic with a cost of $5 a visit, a haircut is less than a dollar...so why do I never have any money? Just life I guess.
