Things Im learning via lure craft: Every glitch in ones plans, every bump in the road and every obstacle or hurdle we face is an substantial opportunity to learn and improve. Its good to be ones own worst critic as long as self criticism doesnt mutate into self loathing or abandoning goals. One of the most important things for anyone engaging in a craft is to periodically step back, focus on something else completely unrelated for a bit and then go at it again with fresh eyes and a renewed spirit. It always results in better work. Our skills improve with time and effort, but the process cant be rushed or forced. Good craft is the result of the love and passion the artisan has for his or her work and it evokes an emotional response from those who come into contact with it. Any worries, anger or other negative feelings borne by the artisan will reflect in his or her work, so its an absolute necessity to enter the work space with a clear head. Time should be regarded as the most valuable commodity we have in life, but often times its the thing many of us take most for granted or simply waste. And on that note I think Ill have a burrito for lunch.....
