Things Ive learned while staying in the hospital with Steve: *you get looked at like youre an idiot when you ask a roomful of nurses if someone has a band aid (I got a paper cut). *the doctors are insane and think that 5am every.singe.morning. is a PERFECT time to wake us up to do x-rays *I now have heard every single song that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has ever sung, as well as every song thats on the Mormon Channel due to the fact that Steve listens to it day and night. *its amazing how easy it becomes to tune out sounds, beeps, tweets, and nurses talking when its 3am and youre exhausted *since Steve cannot speak, Ive found out that I am an AMAZING lip reader *hospital chairs suck *apparently I have a reputation that proceeds me since I research the crap out of everything the doctor says and ask them 3 zillionty questions. Now, every time a new nurse starts her shift and I introduce myself, they almost always say Oh...yeah...YOURE the one that asks all the questions. Weve heard about you. *Ive been asked countless times if I work in the medical field (see above) *make sure you get food when the cafeteria is open. Otherwise, your dinner may resort to Cheetos and a yogurt. (it was surprisingly filling)
