Things That Helped Me Plan My Wedding 1. Save the dates are cute but unnecessary. (Save postage, make a list of people who need to know, and text or PM them.) 2. Start collecting addresses early and keep a file for TY notes. (Church directories are your friend. FB is your next best friend.) 3. Venues go fast! Everyone gets married the same three Saturdays in July so book the church and reception space early. 4. Most chain craft stores (Michaels and Hobby Lobby) have a daily 40% coupon. Their weekly sales rotate. Never pay full price! 5. Use edible favors in most cases. Everyone will not come to the reception or get one so dont stress about having one per guest. 6. It was cheaper to buy linens than pay rental and delivery fees. Its a little more labor intensive but worth it. (Linen tablecloth) 7. Call around for florists! The prices vary widely and when you need 325 roses that makes a difference. (Whole Foods doesnt deliver/setup but do a great job and are less than traditional florists.) *In the Greenville area, Petals and Co did great on my bulk order. *For silks-toss bouquets, bridesmaids etc., try Afloral. 8. Use wedding gifts or home decorations (that can be used in your new place) for decorations. ( My crystal candlesticks from my registry looked great on the head table. Some Pottery Barn mercury glass candle holders worked for my unity candle and now are on my dining table.) 9. DIY cake toppers are fun to make. I made mine for less than $8 bucks. Initials are easy! 10. Dresses-If you know your girls sizes, buying their dresses all at one time can save you a big headache. (I scored a J. Crew final sale dress for $99 and ordered them before they ran out of sizes.) *Get a notebook to write everything in. Read wedding wire reviews. For paper products/stationary-try zazzle or wedding paper divas. Get a free website on theknot. Use a free app like David Tuteras to keep track of major tasks! Happy planning!
