Things....They are-a-changing....and I am about to cry..... HEALTH SCOREBOARD FOR THE TRIBE: -MOLLY is doing well, although some weight gain is evident due to terrible winter -BLUE too, is healthy but has experienced some serious weight gain. I think these low key, low riders must be susceptible... -TIGER at 17 years old is amazing. He is still pretty well in things around the house, but his joints are simply wearing out, which makes it very difficult for him to get around. Early abuse injuries dont help. -SUGAR is happy despite her hind leg troubles. Her left rear which was operated on (TPLO) last October is doing well. Her right with its snapped ACL is junk....which put more pressure on her one good leg...And none of it helps her bad hips. Uggh! -RUBY still enjoys getting out to meet the public, but her body is betraying her. Loss of muscle mass in her hind legs, 2 disintegrating lower discs, and a torn ACL have all conspired to make her life even more challenging.....Making things worse, poor Ruby does not do well on meds....She get sooo sick. Thankfully, Ruby rides well in wagons and carriages. -CARLA is clearly in steep decline. Not much interested in the world around her, she has also lost around 20 pounds....although she has started to eat again. But its fragile. She hardly ever watches TV and pays no attention to her favorite toys. We continue to manage her Piddle Problem Carla, Ruby and Tiger all used to sleep upstairs with us, but can no longer make the steps. We sometimes try to help them up, but its difficult...... those days are gone forever...Damn it! They grow old too fast and NEVER live long enough. MY heart is breaking.
