Things change. You think youve got things somewhat figured out and boom. Life happens. A young lady I know thought everything was absolutely perfect. She was having a baby with the man she loved beyond words. She wanted more than anything in the world to get married and to be a stay at home mommy. Raising her son as the main influence of his life... Being able to control the amount of TV, the language he hears and may also in turn learn. She no longer has an option. She went to her 6 week checkup, got the okay and found a job the next week. She is starting at the bottom. Making very low wages... however eager to learn and be the provider. She is the one who must do it all. She will be the one to lead prayer at dinner and bedtimes. To read stories. She will patch holes in his jeans and holes in his heart. To do homework and coach soccer. To teach him to throw a good football spiral. To protect him when he is picked on and praise him for standing up for those who need it. A little golf here and there. To chase away the monsters under the bed and from the closet. She will bake brownies with m&ms and run his uniforms and homework to school on her lunch breaks because he forgot. She will then drive as fast as possible to make sure she doesnt miss a minute of his games. Even when he sits the sidelines. She will buy milk and diapers. And corsages for his dates. She will be the one to wait up when he begins to drive. To ring proud that cowbell when he begins his Friday night lights. For now she will rock him to sleep knowing she must get up in 4 hours to go to work. She will be frustrated. She will cry and she will slap happily laugh. She is everything he has. So please. Know that your choice to stay home and be a mommy is the best thing in the world. Its a blessing. As hard as it seems to imagine being away from your baby for even three hours. Some do not have that choice. Try not to quickly judge a working momma. Sometimes moms are the superheroes....because they are the only ones who happily stuck around...
