Things have been quiet on the page front, but as they say no news is good news. Right? We have had a great couple of months cruising along in normality. Rocos INR was a bit up and down for a while but we have got it managed, this will be an on going learning curve for all of us for life. Last week i had a call from school as they were concerned that he was complaining his neck was sore and the vein was sticking out and getting darker, as hes on warfarin we all panicked a wee bit thinking it could be a clot esp cause of how noticeable it was. so a quick trip to the doctor (so grateful for our doctor who sees us on such short notice) to check him out and ease my mind, he also showed me how to check for a clot, turns out the pain was behind the vein and was prob just a nerve or something, sent us home for panadol, cuddles and a quiet afternoon but said he would of done the same thing if it was his child (always nice to hear Im not over reacting for nothing) On the way home i stopped in at school and let his teacher know he was ok, shes so lovely and i knew she would of worried all night, i also thanked her for been alert and for ringing me and reassured her that she did the right thing and to ring anytime somethings not right, id rather 100 false alarms than 1 too late. do feel my doctors office should give me frequent flyer points as with 3 boys Im in there a lot. Also told the teacher that when Roco was little he had a catheter check and they used the vein (the one we were worried about) to do so. Ive always noticed it i guess cause i knew it was there, she was very interested and thanked me for letting her know he was ok and for telling her about the vein etc. She said she was worried cause Roco NEVER complains at school. She offend watches and worries hes pushing himself too hard. Roco had his school cross country which as always he made me proud by doing his best, he was very tired afterwards but he was fighting off a cold as well so good on him. end of august we were lucky to get to the Ronald McDonald Retreat House in Rotorua for a long weekend. AWESOME. Roco has been having more regular sleep overs at his best buddy/cousins house every few weekends. This has been hard to get use to by both Roco and I as we are very close and spend a lot of time together. but it does give us a nice break from each other and gives me a chance to have some me time something Ive had to get use to, as been a single mum means someone is always needing attention. This weekend gone i was able to make a quick trip down to Christchurch to attend my best friends baby shower as a surprise and see my our adopted family and Roco did us proud by been brave and no tears (we have had some very upset phone calls in the past). he had bribed me with if i dont cry will you get me a prize Little monkey. we are all looking forward to summer, lovely to have some warmer days and to see the baby animals in the country, lots of aws and so cutes coming from the back seat. last bit of news we are happy to welcome a new member into our crazy wee household, Rocos got his very own wee kitty cat which hes named Lovey. shes a sweet wee girl but is still very shy so once shes more settled Im sure we will get plenty of photos of the two of them. hope you are all keeping well let us know what you have been up to, and what are you most looking forward to this summer?
