Things that concern me about how we are being taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ- PART 2 This is a tricky one- There is one even more trickier then this- but this one is also clear that God is not saying what we are being told- or what we are being led to agree with through the current generations- Philippians 3:12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. - HONESTLY We are taught or led to receive- that this means that Paul was saying that he was not yet free from sin- I simply ask what has this meant to you? What do you use this Scripture to support? Do we use this to comfort ourselves into thinking that we are not meant to attain- or that even paul didn’t attain, so its ok for us to have sin in our life? WELL THEN Why did paul say this right afterwards- Philippians 3 16 Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us mind the same thing. /// WE HAVE ALREADY ATTAINED LET US WALK BY THE SAME RULE- So they did ATTAIN something- They did have a truth that they lived by- Yet we are told to endure until the end- THOSE THAT ENDURE UNTIL THE END SHALL BE SAVED- That’s what paul didn’t attain- ENDURANCE UNTIL THE END- Thus he was not yet in his glorified body- or made perfect in Christ in glory- So he pressed toward the mark of reaching that glory by holding on to what he had already attained- The righteousness of God living actively in his- Yet when paul was near death- HE DID CLAIM IT- 2 Timothy 4:7-8 King James Version (KJV) 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH LET US WALK BY WHAT WE HAVE ALREADY ATTAINED Thus keeping the faith is living in the righteousness of God until the end of our lives- THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST There is no time to play- Glory to God-
