Things that make no sense. Merry Christmas being an offensive - TopicsExpress

Things that make no sense. Merry Christmas being an offensive term. Reasons you assume(Im a knuckle dragger) Really reason- Merry Christmas is a greeting. Said during a time that we are supposed to be accepting, caring, and compassionate. It I normally said with warmth, and an understanding of holiday cheer. It is the culture I was raised in. Key word, culture. Not religion. Culture. As in, since the 1930s when the Coca-Cola company designed a fat jolly creeper as an advertisement campaign. Who, regardless of actual basis, is an American made character. Reasons im not offended by your seasonal greetings be it Happy elfidr, Ramadan, Hanukah, Kwanza, Cinco da Maio, w/e Cause Im a big enough person not to get lost in translation. And understand the general meaning behind it. Im happy to be a part of someone elses culture. Im happy that they bestowed the gesture. Issues with Happy Holidays None really. But to play the advocate, Ill go on. Its not just about Christmas. Its about all the holidays. The fact that everyone is required to give up a piece of their cultural identity, to please the idiots who cant handle a simple gesture. This is literally, the same difference between saying Hi, or Hello. Or to better associate it Hi,or Hola.
