Things that make you go YEAH! (part 3567) My programme to sit the Licentiate for Recital at the Trinity College of Music in London has been accepted. Although the hard work only begins now, its an important step as the Licentiate is the equivalent of B.Mus third year (which I passed a few years back). Its where Im at with my serious playing, and as i didnt complete my fourth year in the B.mus (you needed to get the honours level before they awarded the B.mus) this will suffice to take me further onto the Associate level should I so desire. It will also enable me to get a full time job at one of the schools in Nelspruit, which is the ultimate aim. Im teaching privately at the moment, but its a tough ask to keep the numbers up, as any teacher will tell you. Unisa is sadly not offering the Licentiate anymore. I tried to sit the exam a few years back but my progress was hampered by a repetitive strain injury to my index finger on the left hand. It took a year to heal, so hope that doesnt happen again! Great thing is I had pretty much waxed the pieces, but must learn two new difficult ones. This is one of the pieces Ill be playing, the alluring Rylynn by Andy Mckee. I love this piece with all my heart! https://youtube/watch?v=JsD6uEZsIsU
