Things to consider when dialing in your PEAK WEEK for your show! The final week is not that hard, trust me it really is not! What you have been doing to this point should have been working pretty good for you, do not do any last minute crazy changes! You dont want to come in looking tired, depleted, stringy, bloated or flat. First off I find decreasing my protein a bit in the beginning of the week while carb loading helps me increase my glycogen stores in the muscles, giving me a fuller look. After increasing them, I gradually adjust my carbs back down until the day of competition. This works wonders for me. Dont change your carbs you have been eating all the time in prep for those many weeks and months, but do change the quantity. If its not broke dont try to fix it now. Disaster awaits you! Do NOT decrease you water intake! Do not do this! If you do, your body will adjust by actually retaining more water outside the muscles, something you do not want at this time of all times! The only time you want to limit your water intake is the day of your competition PERIOD! Do NOT decrease your salt/sodium intake! It will prompt your body to hold more water. Actually you want to add in more sodium in the last hours before your show! :) Coach E
