Think Mike form Healthy Living, Heavy Lifting just nailed it: Health isnt just about the foods you eat. Staunch proponents of clean eating would argue someone is healthy if they avoid processed foods, sugars, wheat, gluten, dairy, additives, sweeteners, etc., and base their diet solely around meat and fish, vegetables, fruits, and so on..... BUT Health is more a state of mind and a lifestyle than thinking youre being healthy by eating a mind-numbingly boring, restrictive diet. Someone who eats well 80% of the time, yet loves what they do, enjoys their diet, can socialise and practices moderation is far healthier, in my opinion, than someone who sticks to a rigid eating plan, has no fun, and doesnt enjoy their diet. Health is, in effect, BALANCE. Someone who parties it up all the time, lives a lazy life and eats junk might be happy, but certainly isnt healthy. Yet neither is the aforementioned extreme clean eater. Theres a sweet spot somewhere in the middle, where you look after yourself, eat well and train hard, but dont sweat the small stuff.
