Think it would be a good thing for people to remember that for years this was how people who were deaf & mute were referred to even by the Medical Profession. Perhaps the employee really didnt know this is no considered appropriate these days & was merely trying to give a heads up to the employees on the other end that these people would not be able to hear announcements as to where the bags could be picked up & would, perhaps, have difficulty asking.
