Think over this very seriously. I am leaving out GOD and RELIGION out of what is on my mind. Humans claim that they have the highest intellect. True or False ? If true then humans with this gift of intellect or in other words freewill can think, decide and choose on their own. True or False ? If true then you can think, decide and choose whether it is in order to kill animals for your palate and craving to eat animals ? You need not involve God or religion in this question. I am talking of what YOUR conscious tells you. They have the same spark of life in them as ours. They also feel pain, they fear, they enjoy happiness and freedom, they too have a family, they too love their babies, they too grieve the loss of close family. Life is precious to them. They do not want to die too. They cherish life too. Big question, Does your intellect, freewill or conscious agree to kill or pay someone to kill a poor, innocent, defenceless, voiceless animal for your food ?
