Think something similar has been discussed before, but sorry, - TopicsExpress

Think something similar has been discussed before, but sorry, cannot find it. A student is buying a tenanted flat. There is a deposit, but the seller of the flat has admitted to the solicitors that the deposit is NOT protected. Whats my students best remedy to ensure that he is NOT impacted by this foulup of the sellers? Obviously he is asking for the deposit x 3 but whats the best thing to do or to ask the seller to do - to return deposit now, or to protect it now, to buy some kind of tenancy deposit substitute or what?
