Think todays Supreme Court ruling on birth control doesnt affect - TopicsExpress

Think todays Supreme Court ruling on birth control doesnt affect anyone you know? Think again. It isnt just about the morning after pill. #HobbyLobby is also blocking IUDs. IUDs are not abortive contraception, they work by preventing an egg from being fertilized. They are also used PRIMARILY as a means of controlling erratic menstrual cycles. 60% of American women use birth control out of medical necessity, not pregnancy prevention. I am one of those women. I choose not to pass a debilitating congenital disease on to a child, thats true. But I also have NO OTHER CHOICE but an IUD to prevent crippling, painful cycles. Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome prevents me from safely using any other kind of hormonal intervention. So if I worked for a company that choose not to cover it, I would have to look for another job. But the man working next to me can get his Viagra and penis pump covered. Does that seem fair to you? The truth is, you DO know someone who is affected by todays #SCOTUS ruling. Me. And many other women like me. And worse, this ruling sets a terrible precedent for other companies to deny your rights based on their religious beliefs. If you support this ruling, youre either not educated on the facts or youre too selfish to care. But you WILL care when it hurts someone you love. And this dangerous precedent means that WILL happen to you. Think about it and stand up for whats right.
