Thinking Liberia - I applaud the decision of the Supreme Court of Liberia... While there may be constitutional arguments for having the elections before January 16, 2015, primary reason I support the decision is the disastrous nature of the elections in the midst the continuous presence of EBOLA. The election campaign have turned so messy that all you hear, see and read is one group doing all it can to bring down the other. We are washing our dirty clothes out there, especially on the internet, much that the world wonders what manner of people we are. We are busy trying to assemble the most crowd as if we ran out of campaign strategies and popularity contest is the only way out. While our people are still dying of EBOLA and the world is still trying to assist us, we are busy engaging in campaign tactics that have the propensity to subvert the now stabilizing spread of EBOLA. Liberians, we seem to have forgot what happened to us in the past, what is happening to us now, and what we want happen to us in the future. I think, in these elections and any elections going forward, we should focus on the issues - those things that are eating us up as a nation and people and that we want change for the better - and the qualities of the candidates - integrity, competence, proven attachment to the people, proven ability to deliver, etc. These should be the basis on which we campaign and vote. frontpageafricaonline/index.php/politic/3822-dec-16-senatorial-elections-put-on-hold-by-supreme-court-of-liberia
