Thinking about Southeast Church of Christs Centennial Celebration (May 4): We love your elders. Our elders – Cliff Fridge, Ron Semanek, Ray Smiley, Bob Gardner, Larry Roberts, Michael Kirksey, Tommy Scott, Lanny Partain, Richard Hasty, Lindsey Gibbons, David Gibson, Don Bachle and Bill Aven and Robert Illgen – and your elders – Bob Deason, Edd Davis, and Steve Sargent and Mark Flippin. And to my elders – Purvis Fly who never passed me with without looking me in the eye and saying – “Do you feel encouraged? I want you to be full of courage.” And Mark Smith who just looked after me. And David Carlisle who is always a pastor. (Each of these names holds a great story!) I cannot tell you fully how proud I am of these leaders. It just tips me over.
