Thinking aloud here. OIl company Baker Hughes to fire 7,000. Haliburton, Swift, and Schlumberger have something similar in mind but havent committed specific figures yet. AmEx to cut more than 4,000, Ebay to cut 2,400, Dreamworks to axe a further 400 on top of cuts already announced. Why is it that mass corporate layoffs always seems to flock together. In this case the timing is odd to boot, a few hours after the State of the Union return of the boom economy message, Note also the steepest cuts to the tech industry since 2009 this past year.
