Thinking for oneself isnt easy in this day and age. Especially now with social media. I have lost friends over my anti vax stance. I am always having to deal with the nastiness and the ridicule and the abuse such as I am an idiot tin foil had conspiracy theorist dirty stinking hippy. And that is not just from people on social networking. I get treated exactly the same by my own family. Being openly anit vax these days is akin to being Jewish back in Nazi Germany during WWII which people saying stuff like anti vaxxers should be shot or locked away in prison and be re-educated. And I noticed recently it is going up to a whole new level with the attacks on parents who choose not to vaccinate in the media using fear and ridicule and using misinformation and outright lies to demonize anyone who has educated themselves and have decided not to vaccinate for what ever reason. It makes my blood boil. You are told not to trust information on the internet. But is putting your faith in the mainstream media to be trusted? The media constantly lie. And so do our governments. So does big business. People accuse anti vaxxers of believing everything they read on the net yet have blind faith in what they are told on the television or in the news papers or by their trusted health professionals who often have no idea at all themselves.
