Thinking of a jet ski holiday? Watermouth Cove Holiday Park Devon My Review and recommendations We stayed on the site in our touring caravan and on arrival found the reception very welcoming….We waited a few minutes for someone to come and show us to our pitch. Which turned out to be Jim who is the owner of the Park…Once he placed us on the all- weather fully serviced pitch with a harbour view, he gave us a quick guide to the park and what activities were available on the site……. Facilities: Bar and Restaurant, Heated outdoor swimming pool, Jet ski launch, A little nature trail all around the park including cliff walks around the headland that the site is situated on….These are fantastic and you can find yourself just sitting there taking in the views and time just passes you by sooo quickly…There are numerous routes around the Cove via rocks and caves etc great for you and the kids to explore…. The shower block is clean and tidy but be warned the showers are hot and powerful (not good when you have sunburn lol). The site I found to be quiet and very relaxing must be the Devonshire Air!!!! They Welcome Dogs on the site too and are allowed in all areas apart from the shop…They have a specific dog exercise field too…. Out on the water the fun begins as they hire out kayaks for fishing and or exploring at reasonable rates…They also do Jet Ski and Ringo rides…. After launching if you go out of the Cove and travel to the right there is a shingle beach about a minute ride away if that, where you could set up base camp if the cove was a little too small for you ….If you continue around the bay you will find Combe Martin. The scenery is just fantastic wherever you look….. If you turn to the left this will take you around the headland into less sheltered waters and there are some strong currents there during slack and high water……You go past the campsite that is up on top of the cliffs and past Watermouth Harbour entrance you can continue on to Hele and Ilfracombe which is about a 10 minute ride away….In the cove itself on high water there is a cave that you can ride jetski thro out into the bay too if your brave enough!!!!! Whilst I was there we had completely flat conditions one day then big messy sea the next……Then on the last day we had some nice 6ft swells but they were only short 5sec spaces between them……Some people had booked to go out on the ringo ride in those conditions lol…..They was soon asking Jim to take them back to shore because of the pain…… On Monday one of the boys from the South West Jase came down to have a ski with us and we had a good few hours blasting around the bay and doing a free display for the tourists that were out on the wildlife Safari boat trips……Jim the owner had launched his brand new Seadoo Wake to come out and have a play in the surf with us and he was quite impressed with our display of skills we put on for him….. especially when we kept pump washing his daughters BF when he came off the ringo lol….When we went back in to fuel up we where greeted by a few spectators on the beach…One of them asked us if we where having a good time So we said YES…We turned around to continue refuelling but this guy started saying that we were irresponsible as we were ruining the environment and making too much noise!!!!! We turned and looked at each other and thought is he for real!!!! Jim the owner was on the beach and heard this oldish Gent….The guy said he was staying on the site next door and was upset with the noise….At that point Jim told the guy to go away quite abruptly and to get off his holiday park….We where all pi**ing our selves in disbelief….. I was a little worried about going out on my own but Jim kept an eye out for us whilst I was out on my freestyle ski…. Dolphins and Seals in the area….. I saw them but didn’t have my phone or camera…. Jim is an absolute gent and loves his jet skiing and I’m sure anyone from the forum wishing to stay on the site will be well looked after by him and his team as we where….
