Thinking of camp today, which is not uncommon for me at this time - TopicsExpress

Thinking of camp today, which is not uncommon for me at this time of year. I have shared with many of you that our daughter Dani aspires to be a camp director. This summer she is the Assistant Athletics Supervisor at the URJs Camp Harlam. It is a camp of more than 500 kids. She and her colleague Trent oversee 16 specialists - tennis, archery, soccer, baseball, basketball hockey, lacrosse, even gymnastics and yoga. This Sunday is the annual Pinemere games, a one day series of different games with the neighboring JCC camp. I teased her about yoga being a part of the Pinemere games. Can you imagine imploring your campers to hold that downward-facing dog for just 30 seconds more? She came home the other day for a day off. Huge bag of laundry. She shared some wonderful stories of a camper with some physical challenges who is having the time of his life as well as a camper who cried literally for the first 5 days of camp - except when he was sleeping - and how he now is finally not crying all the time and enjoying himself. One of the traits I inherited from my dad is being humble. I am not a bragger. Today I will step out of character and be more like my mom and share with you Danis blog. The video at the end is kind of cool, too. Happy July 4th and summer to everyone. Best, Katman blogs.rj.org/harlam/2014/07/02/win-everywhere/
