Romans 14:19 - “Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.” As a Christian minister, I am often called to the bedside of those who are in the Intensive Care Unit of the local hospitals. They are facing the reality of poor health and physical problems they cannot control. This can be sad and distressing, but is primarily physical. What is of far greater distress and sadness is those who have excellent health, but who impose emotional and psychological damage upon others who are often the closest to them. We cannot see the need for the Intensive Care Unit when a child has been hurt in an unwise and sometimes vicious unleashing of words that crush and devastate their worth and confidence. No role on earth brings greater rewards than the patient development of lives around us; the precious souls that Christ died to save. Love and encouragement have no price tag, but are the true jewels and gems of the inner being. Rev Paul Vice
