A group of nurse leaders who embarked on the Leadership For Change programme (LFC), under the supervision of DENOSA Professional Institute (DPI), will be graduating tomorrow 03 December at DENOSA head office in Pretoria from 10h30 to 12h30. Members of the media are cordially invited to attend the graduation and report. Details of the event are as follows: DATE: 3 December 2014 VENUE: 605 Stanza Bopape Street, Arcadia, Pretoria TIME: 10h30 – 12h30 MEDIA CONTACT PERSON: Sibongiseni Delihlazo: 079 875 3662 This would be a third batch of nurse leaders graduating from the programme. DPI is a professional wing of DENOSA, which capacitates nurses in South Africa professionally, so they could provide solutions to the country’s complex challenges in the provision of healthcare service. The programme capacitates participants on leadership in nursing, and empowers them on how to respond to key challenges in health in the country. As part of their project, they focused on the National Health Insurance (NHI) and looked at the role that nurses should play. The LFC programme was brought by DPI in South Africa in 2010, where trainers from International Council of Nurses (ICN) provided training to local nurses. Majority of nurses who graduated last year have gone further to acquire training that will enable them to train their colleagues on LFC. In this regard, the third group of nurse leaders commenced the LFC training on 2 December 2013, where, unlike before, trainers were those who graduated in 2012 and who come from South Africa. The group was trained by Wonder Mlotshwa, who is also DPI’s Education and Training Manager. End
