Third sports idea. To avoid collisions with catchers at the plate there should be a box, similar to a coaches box, drawn 15 feet up the 3rd base line. If the runner is not in that box before the ball reaches the plate he must surrender ( no slide or attempted bull dozing), return to 3rd, or traditional slide only. If in the box before the catcher catches the ball then the catcher shall assumes responsibility to not physically block plate or risk collision. Penalty for egregious rule violators will result in automatic ejections.
