Thirteen states have raised their minimum wage since January 1st. According to a new report from the Labor Department, job growth in these states has been faster this year than in states that didn’t raise their minimums. Thats because raising the minimum puts more money into the pockets of people who will spend it, thereby creating jobs. A concept the Republicans have not been able to (or want to) grasp: You can reduce the tax rate on the investors and the wealthy to 0% but, unless the demand for products and services increases, not one new job is going to be created.
