Thirty years ago, Greg Shaw (owner of Bomp! Records) decided to invest in two days of studio time and record some teenagers from San Diego. Despite much advice not to waste the time and money on some dorky kids who had never been in a band before. Who could barely play their instruments and didnt know (or for that matter care), that you where supposed to be cool if you played in a band. For me that was the genius of Greg, being able to spot in a few minutes true teen trash and lament. In short a true garage band. That band would forever be known as Gravedigger V . He would release a full lenght LP on his Bomp/Voxx label in 1984, entitled All Black and Hairy. I can truly say that everyone envolved in the making of this record would never in their wildest dreams, perdicted this piece of wax would go on to become a garage punk classic, still being played to this day. Being that this is the 30th anniversary of the release of All Black and Hairy I decided to release, (with the help of Area Pirata Records) a special 30th anniversary limited 7 of the two most popular Gravedigger V tracks for all the friends and fans around the world. The A side is our rendition of the Screaming Lord Sutch track, All Black and Hairy. The song most attributed to the Gravedigger V. On the B side is our very first original composition, Spooky ... A simiple teen fuzz stomper that would go on to become a garage punk classic. On that note I would just like to say thanks to everyone, who throughout the Years has loved the Gravedigger V and refused to let us die!!! This record is for you!!!
