This 30 min BBC Panorama documentary looks at Islam in Britain in the wake of the France killings. It seems there is a growing violent and non-violent extremist element in the UK. There are also some very worrying views from some mainstream muslim leaders here, and quite a few Islamofacists spouting rubbish. I think the moderate muslims DO prop up extremism and radical Islam, which is why I dont think its a good idea to have too many muslim immigrants (trigger warning!) to western countries if we want to retain our way of life and avoid trouble. Its a numbers game. CNNs Christiane Amanpour said this week that countries such as France were more vulnerable to terrorist attacks due to their high proportion of muslim immigrants. Having said all that, there are muslims in the UK trying to promote a more tolerant and cuddly British Islam, as seen in this programme.
