This Anzac Day the Australian War Memorial encourages all Australians to remember the service and sacrifice of the courageous men and women who have served our country in all wars. This year we pay special tribute to those who have served in the recently concluded Afghanistan conflict. In remembering those who have served and the 40 men who lost their lives in Afghanistan we are running a series of YouTube videos detailing their service and sacrifice. The stories are told by those who served and their loved ones. Today’s story is told by Private Andrew Fox-Lane, he Andrew Fox-Lane served one tour of Afghanistan, deploying as a Rifleman with Mentoring Task Force 1 in 2010. Heavily involved with patrolling with and mentoring the Afghan National Army, living and working alongside them for months on end in the Deh Rawood region, Fox-Lane was also among those involved in the Derapet action in August 2010.
