This Baltic Cruise has been absolutely fabulous..glorious weather, not one day of rain but in Skagen (pronounced Skain), we had dense fog and were delayed for the tour by two hours. Skagen is at the northern most tip of Denmark where the Baltic Sea meets the North Sea.We have learned so much about the people and conditions in these Baltic countries. In Finland, I was thinking what a fabulous country, how nice it would be to live here, until I learned of how they have fallen on very hard times. It is a country covered in forests which has been the major source of income for the people..PAPER. But with electronics replacing paper, many people have lost their jobs AND with the war in Russia with the Ukraine, the European Union has imposed restrictions on trade with Russia, cutting out selling, milk, butter and cheese, another great loss of revenue. Finland is suffering.
