This Day in History 2006 – Ronald Isley, lead singer of The Isley Brothers, was convicted of tax evasion. He was sentenced to three years and one month in prison. He was released in April of 2010. 2005 – Mariah Carey became only the fifth act ever to hold the top two positions in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. “We Belong Together” was at number one for 10 consecutive weeks (her 16th number one single) and “Shake It Off” sat in second place. 1996 – Michael Jackson earned his 12th and final (barring any posthumous releases) number one single with “You Are Not Alone.” 1980 – Diana Ross had the number one single with “Upside Down.”
