However, at today’s gig in Las Vegas, they have to stop playing twice in order to ask the audience to let up with the barrage of candy. 1965 – No. 1 on the albums chart are the Rolling Stones with Out of Our Heads. 1966 – On their last ever US tour The Beatles performed in two cities due to a cancellation due to rain the previous day. First they performed at Crosley Field in Cincinnati, Ohio. Then they flew to St. Louis, Missouri, for a concert at Busch Stadium, where they performed under a tarpaulin due to heavy rain. It was this gig that convinced Paul McCartney that The Beatles should stop performing live. 1967 – The Doors started recording their second album 1967 – Bob Dylan re-signs with Columbia upon the expiration of his initial five-year contract. 1967 – Pink Floyd abandon their German tour after their singer, Syd Barrett, disappears. 1969 – No. 1 Chart Toppers Pop Hit: “Honky Tonk Women,” The Rolling Stones. 1971 – The Who hit US chart with ‘Who’s Next’ 1973 – The Doobie Brothers achieved gold status for the first time in 1973. Their second album, Toulouse Street, did the trick 1976 – The Rolling Stones play the Knebworth Festival before an audience of 200,000, saying it’s their last British show. If only. 1979 – No. 1 Chart Toppers Pop Hit: “My Sharona,” The Knack. 1984 – Tina Turner struck it rich in 1984 when “What’s Love Got to Do With It” became a gold record while making its climb to the top. 1994 – Bob Dylan plays his 600th concert on the so-called Neverending Tour in Columbus, Ohio. 1995 – Seal’s single “Kiss From A Rose” tops the Chart Topperss Hot 100.
