This Day in TV History: 30 years ago today the 36th Primetime Emmy Awards aired on CBS. The big winners of the night were Cheers, which won several awards including Outstanding Comedy Series, and Hill Street Blues, which took several awards, including Outstanding Drama Series. Both series had two of the most recognizable theme songs of the 80s. Cheers theme song, Where Everbody Knows Your Name, received a lot of radio play and did fairly well on the US and UK charts. Hill Street Blues theme reached number 10 on Billboards Top 100 in 1981.
